Curved Glass

Modern architecture provides an opportunity to increase the imagination of building designers, however Technological progress contributes to apply these ideas in reality, one of these ideas is to use the curved glass that we manufacture at Bahwan Metal and Glass Engineering LLC with high quality in a manner consistent with current market requirements.

Manufacturing method

Curved glass is produced by heating the glass on metal molds in the required shape or using bending the tempered glass and affecting it with pressure during the cooling stage, and the bending can be in one direction or in multiple directions.

Benefits of using curved glass:

  1. Structural benefits:
The clear arc in curved glass increases the durability of the glass, and different thicknesses of curved glass are available, which helps in reducing the total weight and cost of the structure by reducing the thickness.
  2. Visual feed:
It highlights the project’s aesthetics and uniqueness in design, as it provides a sense of space and allows more natural light to pass through, and it can be used both inside and outside residential and commercial buildings.
  3. Thermal insulator:
It resists the external heat and is able to trap the heat inside the building, which makes it a thermal insulator, and some specialists believe that it is optimal for the cold months of the year.

Ideas for using curved glass:

  • Outside the building: building facades, skyscrapers, shops and windows.
  • Inside the building: glass panels for elevators and stairs, shower doors, and it can be used to divide the wide rooms.
  • Other architectural applications: mosque domes, fishponds, and revolving doors.

Curved glass measurements and details:

3205 *2250 Height
1000 Diameter
6 mm, the glass can be colored.

10-19 mm, for clear glass.

Realistic experience of the quality and strength of curved glass at Bahwan Metal & Glass Engineering Company

Curved glass was manufactured and tested by using 15 mm thick glass and moving a Raptor (F150) over it without it being affected or causing scratches, This is an indicator confirming the durability of curved glass, The test was repeated at the same time for more than 8 consecutive times, This test was documented and published on social media platforms.
